You don't have to be. The prompts aren't asking you to perform — they're asking you to remember. “Tell me about the first time you met” is a story, not an essay. Most people are surprised how naturally it flows once they start talking.
Can I choose the questions?
Yes. Pick from our curated prompts or create your own.
What happens if I miss a prompt or want to record more?
Both are fine. Every prompt stays in your private space and you can come back to it whenever you like. There's no schedule to keep up with. And if you want to record more than one story a week, go for it — there's no limit.
Will older relatives be able to use this?
We designed it to be as simple as possible. No apps to download, no accounts to create, no passwords to remember. If they can use a smartphone camera, they can record a story. Many of our contributors are grandparents in their 70s and 80s.
How Stories Are Written
How are the written stories created?
Every story starts with your voice. Your recording is transcribed and then shaped into a written narrative using AI — keeping your tone, your humour, and the way you naturally tell a story. Nothing is invented. Nothing is rewritten beyond recognition. You see every story before it goes to print and you can edit anything along the way. The voice you recognise is the one that stays.
Will the stories sound scripted or unnatural?
No. Every story begins as someone speaking naturally, in their own words. The written version is shaped around how you actually talk — not how a copywriter thinks you should sound. You approve everything. If something doesn't feel right, you change it.
Can I edit my stories after recording?
Yes. You can edit the written version of any story at any time before your book is printed. You can also add or swap photos after recording. Nothing is locked until you say it's ready.

What does the finished book look like?
14x11-inch hardcover, lay-flat premium binding, 170gsm silk stock, matte laminate, hardbound linen cover. Up to 90 pages. QR codes on every story page linking to the original voice or video recording.

How many people can contribute?
As many as you like. Send a link to anyone — parents, bridesmaids, best man, grandparents. They record on their phone in their own time. No app needed. The average book has 6-8 contributors, but some have 2 and some have 20.
How long until I receive my book?
Your book arrives within 14 days of finalising your layout.
Privacy & Ownership
Who can see and hear our stories?
Only the people you choose. Your stories are private by default and accessible only through your book and your account. Nothing is public. Nothing is searchable. Nothing is shared unless you decide to share it. You can remove or download your recordings at any time.
Will my recordings and QR codes still work in 20 years?
Your recordings are securely stored online and are always yours to download and keep independently. The book itself is produced using archival-grade materials designed for decades of use. Even as technology evolves, your recordings remain under your ownership and can be accessed, downloaded, and backed up at any time.
